My Approach
Jamila is a LMHC in Massachusetts with 6 years of experience in the mental health field. She is a graduate of Lesley University where she earned her Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy. Jamila currently works as Mental Health Counselor in the Simmons University Counseling Center. Jamila has experience in helping people with anxiety, depression, coping with grief and loss, self esteem, identity related issues and more. Jamila's years of experience as an educator, youth development specialist and the director of programming in idependent schools and non profits inform her approach.
Jamila sees the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for grounding connection, self exploration, and growth. With a focus on self compassion, Jamila invites clients to explore the relationship between their individual and collective identities and their life experiences.
